37th postcard

South Dakota! Thank you to Allyson Frey (4th grader).  Fun fact is that Sculptor Gutzon Borglum began drilling into the 6,200-foot Mount Rushmore in 1927. Creation of the Shrine to Democracy took 14 years and cost a mere $1 million, though it's now deemed priceless.

Iowa!  Thank you, Wood Family.  Crystal Lake is home to a statue of the world's largest bullhead fish.

North Carolina (again).  Thanks, Uncle Russ.  In 1903 the Wright Brothers made the first successful powered flight by man at Kill Devil Hill near Kitty Hawk. The Wright Memorial at Kitty Hawks now commemorates their achievement.
